VOLUNTEER DRIVER PROGRAM

VOLUNTEER DRIVER PROGRAM

Do you have spare time you are looking to fill?

Do you want to do something that makes a difference in people’s lives?

Consider becoming a volunteer driver for Roscommon County Transportation Authority!

Roscommon County Transportation Authority provides non-emergency medical transportation to residents of Roscommon County to destinations all over the state of Michigan. Volunteering your time will help make someone else’s trip a possibility that otherwise they may not have been a possibility at all. Our volunteers play a vital role in making more trips happen in the community in the most cost effective way possible.

Our volunteers enjoy many benefits including:

  • -A flexible schedule

  • -Driving our vehicles

  • -Zero out of pocket fuel costs

  • -Mileage reimbursement

  • Volunteer Requirements:

-Because our volunteers are trained in the same ways as our regular drivers, all volunteers are required to undergo certain training criteria and keep up with certifications.

  • -Must undergo drug and alcohol testing and be entered into our drug/alcohol pool where you may be selected at anytime to submit to drug/alcohol testing.

  • -Must possess or be able to pass a DOT physical.

  • -Must possess or be able to acquire a chauffer’s license.

  • -Must pass a drivers license check and background check.
